Aurelius IT needed to move their entire existing infrastructure to the cloud — without the business feeling it. For an IT services company, downtime during a migration isn't just an inconvenience; it's a credibility problem in front of their own clients.
The migration also had to clear a high internal bar: hardened security, automated backups, and monitoring that would satisfy their strictest internal audits — not just work on day one, but stay observable and recoverable long after.
What we built
Scope and plan before touching anything
We started with a full inventory of the existing infrastructure, mapping every system, dependency, and failure mode. The migration plan sequenced workloads so that at every step there was a tested rollback path.
Infrastructure as code on AWS
The target architecture was built on AWS and defined entirely in Terraform — reproducible, reviewable, and version-controlled. Docker-based workloads made environments consistent from staging through production.
Zero-downtime cutover
Workloads were migrated incrementally with parallel running and staged cutovers, so services stayed available throughout. The final switchover completed with zero minutes of downtime.
Security, backups, and monitoring built in
Security hardening was applied across the stack, automated backup systems put recovery on rails, and Datadog dashboards gave the team live visibility. The setup passed Aurelius IT's strictest internal audits.

The migration completed with zero downtime, and the new architecture cut infrastructure costs by 50% while sustaining 99.9% uptime post-migration.
